SPEAK conducted an awareness programme on suicide prevention for school heads of Corporation Schools in Madurai on October 10, 2019, as a part of World Mental Health Day 2019. The cohort of school heads attended the programme through Happy Schooling initiative of MSCT&RF Dr.Nandini Murali, Director, SPEAK, was invited as a panellist by Twitter India on October 9, 2019, Bengaluru, in connection with World Mental Health Day. The thematic discussion centred on 'Reducing stigma around mental health through awareness, knowledge, shared learning and that help is available.’ It dovetailed with the focus on Suicide Prevention, which was the theme of this year's World Mental Health Day SPEAK organised a meeting on October 24, 2019, with Paras Sharma and RashiVidyasagar from The Alternative Story, Bengaluru, to discuss the process of setting up a distress helpline |
